Outlander – New Galloway – Balmaclellan and Castle Kenmure

This week I was out and about in the Glenkens shooting images for a documentary to be shown by Vox TV in Germany. It’s about the local actor Sam Heughan who stars as Jamie Fraser in the series “Outlander”. I visited Kells primary where Sam went to school in New Galloway and the converted stables where he lived, quite near to the intriguing ruins of Castle Kenmure which is rumoured to be the place where Sam would go and play as a boy. From there I also visited the small village of Balmaclellan nestled away in the rolling Galloway hills. I was given some top location tips from my learners that attend my photography group at the Cat Strand in New Galloway. Local Knowledge is a real time saver and was much appreciated. Below are some photographs from my day shoot.New Galloway cottages and Town Hall
